ECMO VA emergencies - limb ischemia / 92-C-EM-20

Art.Nr.: 92-C-EM-20

A feared problem during va ecmo therapy and femoral or subclavian arterial cannulation is the obstruction of the vessel with subsequent extremity (limb) ischemia. It is extremely important to be aware of this problem and to establish a distal monitoring procedure (SpO2, measurement of PaO2). If necessary, a bypass must be issued for supply.
