This diagram shows important points when selecting cannulation sites before va ecmo therapy in order to achieve optimal matching of ventilation and perfusion. Particular attention is paid to avoiding the well-known "harlequin" phenomenon during femoral artery cannulation, for which a good knowledge of cardiovascular function is essential in order to find the optimal va ecmo flow and avoid cerebral hypoxemia.
