This diagram gives an overview about a possible emergency treatment of epiglottitis. The goal to be striven for in preclinical epiglottitis therapy is rapid therapy with the (if possible) avoidance of invasive manipulations (such as i.v. access, orotracheal intubation). Calming down, non-invasive measures and speedy transport to the hospital have proven their worth!
