The middle cerebral artery (MCA), as terminal branch of internal carotid artery, supplies brain parenchyma of primary motor and somatosensory cortical areas of the face, trunk and upper limbs, apart from the insular and auditory cortex. It builds the anterior part of the circle of Willis´.
